EEK!
I cannot believethis is happening! I finally have my website/blog completed and I am so ready to share it with you all! I don’t think I would have done all of this and put so much time and effort into it without so many of you encouraging me and rooting me on. THANK YOU! You guys are the best. So, let’s chat a bit about what is happening in my brain and how I got here, a little about my style, and what really gets my juices going…
As most of you may know, I provided professional makeup services for 5+ years. I did weddings, proms, events, and traveled a bit for Lancome’s national artistry teams. It was a BLAST. I loved it! I still love all things beauty, but I realized something that never changed throughout those gigs… When I was young, I loved old pictures, I love looking at old pictures and gushing about the memories behind them. Pictures bring familiarity. They bring simplicity and joy. Fast forward to now, I realized that pictures are so special and dear to my heart that I had to get on the other side and learn the logistics.
My family was always a Nikon family, until Cody got me a Canon for Christmas a few years ago. “Big fancy” cameras have always been apart of my life, but I never quite knew how to use them properly. My mom was always taking pictures, her sisters were always taking pictures (still do!) and we have boxes and boxes of pictures from my childhood and years prior. They bring everyone SO much joy. I wanted to provide the same for others. Most of the pictures were candids, just silly ones around the house, or a quick pose in the front yard. Nonetheless, they are special memories. I had to figure out how to do the same for my family + friends, and now letting others in, too! I also grew up with my dad owning his own business. I have always had it in me to start my own ventures and help others along their journey as well. Thus, leading me to love small business & commercial photography, locals have my heart. 🙂
I have figured out what types of sessions I love, the style I go for, and the memories I want to help you remember. I love a good bright and airy photo, paired with a crisp grit. I adore the look of film photography, but the convenience of digital. Perfectly imperfect, with really creamy natural colors, natural lighting, the sun coming through the trees, and the kid running around not sitting still. The real, raw, moments are what I love to capture. YES. I’m here for the little details that often get overlooked!
So, not only will this place share photography sessions, but I will be sharing a lot of my heart, about home, family/motherhood, and interior design. Some may wonder why some people share so much of their lives on social media… Well, I do it in hopes of helping + encouraging others in their journey! Because, after all, we’re all in this together!
xo,
Kaylan
